Kayla and Steven’s St Augustine elopement felt like straight out of a storybook. It was intentional, emotional, and full of those old-world vibes that only cobblestone streets and candlelight can deliver.
With just a handful of their closest loved ones, they created an elopement experience that felt rooted in meaning and soaked in beauty. From the soft breeze off the water to the warm flicker of string lights above their dinner table, everything about this day was done with heart.

Their entire elopement took place at a stunning Airbnb right on the water with a stunning balcony overlooking the marsh.
Right before their ceremony, Kayla and Steven had a moment completely alone to bless the space. It was one of the most beautiful things, this quiet honoring of the moment. Their ceremony space was dressed in soft florals, with wooden chairs lining a vintage rug and the sky showing off in the background. Every detail felt elevated, but not overdone.
They kept their wedding small on purpose, sharing the day with the people who shaped them the most and nothing more. As they read their vows, there was this hush that fell over everyone… These are the moments I live for when photographing elopements, the ones that just happen, naturally, without ever needing to be staged.

After the ceremony and a few family portraits, we made our way into historic downtown St. Augustine. This city feels like stepping into a European village with lush greenery, terracotta rooftops, weathered stone walls, and winding brick alleyways.
We wandered from the iconic Lightner Museum to the Casa Monica Resort, soaking up that golden light and letting the city guide us. Kayla grew up here, walking these very streets to school, but seeing it again through Steven’s eyes (his first time in her hometown!) gave the whole afternoon a deeper kind of magic. She told me she had a whole new appreciation for it now and how beautiful it really is.
St Augustine has such a romantic, timeless energy and it is one of my favorite spots for engagement photos or elopements in Florida!

We ended the evening back at the Airbnb, where the ceremony space had transformed into a candlelit dinner scene that felt like something out of a dream. There was a long table set on the balcony with string lights hung above and candles flickering on the table.
Kayla and Steven shared a first dance and then sat down to a catered five-course meal. They wanted a true experience that reflected who they are and what matters to them, and that’s exactly what this St. Augustine elopement was all about!

Thinking of eloping in Florida? St. Augustine is one of those places that gives you everything. Here you’ll find European charm with historic architecture, walkable downtown streets, gorgeous waterfront backdrops, and endless places to make it your own.
